In October 2008, the BHNA Board of Directors announced the formation of a new program designed to enhance the Baker Neighborhood’s image and raise additional money to support the association’s activities.
The Baker Community Partnership is composed of two categories: (1) “Neighbors,” individuals and families who live in Baker; and (2) “Partners,” commercial and non-profit organizations who do business in or near Baker.
Baker Community Partnership offers three levels of support for those who wish to support BHNA in this fashion. The following list details the level and benefits of the “Baker Community Partnership—Neighbor” program:
Level One: annual cost $15.00
Benefits:
- One-year subscription to the Baker Bark
- Registration to Baker Bargains
- Door sticker to promote your enrollment
- Recognition in an issue of the Baker Bark
Level Two: annual cost $50.00
Benefits:
- One-year subscription to the Baker Bark
- Registration to Baker Bargains
- Door sticker to promote your enrollment
- Recognition in an issue of the Baker Bark
- 2 free admissions to the Spring Party
Level Three: annual cost $250.00
Benefits:
- One-year subscription to the Baker Bark
- Registration to Baker Bargains
- Door sticker to promote your enrollment
- Recognition in an issue of the Baker Bark
- 4 free admissions to the Spring Party
- One free aluminum or bronze “Baker Historic District” plaque
It is important to note that this new program **does not** replace the previous ways Baker residents and businesses participated in the life of BHNA.
- Annual subscriptions to the Baker Bark can still be purchased for $10
- Registration for the annual Baker Bargains neighborhood yard sale will still cost $10
- Everyone in the neighborhood will still be invited to the December
- holiday party, regardless of whether or not they choose to participate in new or existing programs
- “Baker Historic District” plaques will still be available for sale
- Individuals and businesses are still welcome and encouraged to provide financial and volunteer support to the BHNA
However, enrollment in the “Baker Community Partnership—Neighbor” or “Baker Community Partnership—Partner” programs may be the most convenient, complete and economical way to participate in the activities of the BHNA.
To enroll as a member of the “Baker Community Partnership—Neighbor” program, send your name, address (street and e-mail), phone number, Level selected (One, Two or Three) and a check payable to “BHNA” to Baker Historic Neighborhood Association, P.O. Box 9171, Denver, CO 80209.
You will be contacted to confirm receipt of your enrollment before your check is deposited. Door stickers will be mailed shortly after the beginning of the year and new enrollments will be recognized in the next issue of the Baker Bark.
The “Baker Community Partnership—Partner” program will have similar levels for businesses and non-profit organizations to choose from. A similar selection of benefits will be offered, with advertising
in the Baker Bark and on the BHNA web site included among the benefits offered.
